Insertion of mono-layer size insulating layer intotile cathode/organic and anode/organic layer has been investigatedin organic EL device, which consists of 8-hydroxyquinolinealuminum (Alq3) as an emissive layer and diamine (TPD) as a holetransporting layer. The emission characteristics have beenimproved by insertion of mono-layer size of Al2O3 betweenelectrode and organic layers, and the dependence of layer thicknessof Al2O3 has been investigated.
