Microwave-enhanced radiochemistry [Review]

The application of microwaves to synthetic organic chemistry is currently experiencing considerablegrowth. Here we show how the area of radiochemistry, with particular reference to the synthesis of H-3-(or T-), C-11- and F-18-labelled compounds, can benefit. Faster, cleaner, more selective reactions are possible with the formation of much reduced levels of radioactive waste. [References: 37]
