Indian Steel Exports Up 0.4% in H1

India's steel exports grew by just 0.4 per cent in the first six months of the current fiscal which the "worried" domestic producers attribute to higher cost of production and growing dominance of China in the global market. India exported 2.69 million tonnes (MT) steel during the April-September period of 2014-15, compared to 2.68 MT in the same period of last fiscal, according to the data compiled by the Joint Plant Committee, a unit under the Steel Ministry.
