Regarding the article in the March/April 2009 issue titled, "Elective laparoscopy for herald symptoms of mesen-teric/intemal hernia after laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass," by Gandhi et al [1], the authors commented that, "Petersen's space was initially described in patients who had undergone retrocolic Roux-en-Y reconstruction." They then described the space between the transverse mesocolon and the Roux limb mesentery in a gastric bypass as "Petersen's space."
