X-ray emission spectra aie measured for electrified samples and the spectra are compared with those of electrically conductive samples It is found that the electrified samples emit two orders of magnitude stronger X-rays than electrically conductive samples. Peisach et al. [1] reported an enhancement effect occurring in particle-induced X-ray emission (PIXE [2]) spectra. They reported that the X-rays emitted from fluoride targets (CrF_3, FeF_3, CuF_2, or ZnF_2) bombarded by =MeV protons, deuterons, or ~3He~+ ions were stronger than those from metals themselves The origin was not clarified by them Mboweni et al. [3] again reported the above effect, and found that the enhancement factor depended on projectile energy; it was 10~2 for a 500 keV proton,and it rapidly decreased as the projectile energy became larger.
