Fully Automatic: Inject Moulding of Micro Gear Wheels Made from Power Metal

A joint development project of wbk Institute of Production Technology, Kugele Werkzeugbau and Arburg demonstrates automated production methods for injection moulded micro-parts. In high-tech Industries, such as medical technology and telecom-munications in particular, the demand for highly-resilient, wear-resistant micro-components is in-creasing at an enormous rate. Injection moulding is particularly well-suited to the production of this type of miniature structure. With this technology, it is possible to manu-facture tiny parts in series production at a consistently high quality -even down to parts measured in nanometres.
