The buzz on beekeeping

Beekeeping has quickly moved from being a cottage industry to a full-fledged agriculture business. Formerly, beekeepers relied entirely on honey production to fund their operations, but over the past 10 years the pollination rental business has been building. Andrew Sperlich and Anne Mifsud operate Norfolk Apiaries on their farm near St. Williams, Ontario, where they not only produce and sell honey from their on-site store, but also rent their bees to fruit and vegetable growers to assist in crop pollination.
