Pothole-free concrete roads

South Africa has the expertise and technology to design, construct and maintain concrete roads on a par with the best in the world, according to Bryan Perrie, managing director of the Cement & Concrete Institute (C&CI). "Virtually all of the many potholes on our roads are on asphalt pavements and are essentially due to lack of maintenance. By contrast, concrete roads do not form potholes and they require significantly less maintenance.
