摘要

Statistical analysis of data on CCM operation at Severstal between 1999 and 2002 demonstrates the influence of the cross section of continuous-cast slabs and the number of the CCM on the mold life. It is found that restoring wear locations on the mold's working surface by applying a gas-thermal coating is expedient after 70-80 melts, when the probability of malfunctioning due to wear is becoming significant. A technology has been developed for restoring the working surfaces by the application of gas-thermal coatings to wear locations on the narrow walls, without dismantling the mold. This increases mold life by 30-35 melts or more.
