When typical blast furnaces are operated with an increased portion of pellets, and also when part of the coke is replaced by coal dust blown into the hearth, significant dynamic compactions can arise in the charge in the upper part of the furnace, which leads to a rise in lateral pressure, hampers the burden's descent, and worsens the technical and economic indices. In practice, lateral pressure of the charge on the walls of the furnace is computed by determining the increment in Mctional force through the height of the furnace between the materials and a probe pipe [1]. The problem consists in correcting the design profile with the desired curve of distribution of lateral pressure. We will break up the furnace's profile into zones defined by the subscript i.
