摘要

Daniel Niemela started welding at an early age. It was a trade school teacher, Jay Jezylo from Dickinson-Iron Technical Education Center, who first captured Niemela's attention while in his sophomore year of high school. From then on Niemela was hooked. This young man from Quinnesec, Mich., in the Upper Peninsula (U.E), took this growing passion and turned it into a summer job. In the U.E, where snow abounds with an average accumulation of 200 inches a year, it's not surprising that Niemela took a job with a company that produces snowplows. What he learned from this company was that he was a good welder and wanted to learn more. Through hands-on experience, Niemela realized he didn't want to work on a production line all his life, so he set a course to become a welding engineer.
