Fire Retardant Textiles in Public Places

During the last one year after the Textile Summit at Vigyan Bhavan on 30 September 2007, a lot of interest has been generated in India for development of Technical textiles in India. For this purpose a co-ordination council was formed headed by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, under which are task forces formed by FICCI and CII. Bureau of Indian Standards is actively working to set Indian Standards for various sectors of Technical Textiles. The Textile Ministry has also identified various Textile Research Associations as Centre of Excellence for creating adequate testing facilities. RSWM is actively involved in manufacturing and promoting use of Fire Retardant textiles in India.
