The first day of the conference was chaired by Mr Chaipat Kamchadduskorn, Partner, Siam Premier International Law Office Ltd who not only updated the participants with the prospects of the Thai Steel Industry but also helped entrepreneurs learn about the activities of the organiser, Asia Business Forum and the importance of business conferences of this type. Presentations started with a keynote address by Damri Sukhotanang, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry titled 'Government's Economic-stimulus Measures to Accelerate Steel Industry's Growth'. Mr Damri began his exemplary address with the economic outlook for Thailand and its comparison with the global 'tigers'. While citing the IMF data he said that Thailand is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and the third fastest in Asia after China and India. In one of his slides he presented economic growth figures (Tablel).
