As a marketing guy, I love to visit all varieties of retail establishments and listen to the interaction between customers and employees. What is spoken so often makes no sense. As a bottom-line guy, my perspective is usually to make the deal and move on to the next thing. So often, however, there are simple questions that lead to add-on questions that lead to some of the dumbest verbal exchanges. In my mind, they add little or nothing to the process, but they seem to be unavoidable.
