It was a sunny day on March 14,2009 when the Arizona Builders' Alliance (ABA) celebrated the closing of a 7-month Leadership Development Forum (LDF) class project for renovations at the Mesa Association of Sports for the Disabled (MASD). John Krecek, JFK Electrical Contracting Enterprises Inc., board member of ABA and MASD, thought it was time that Phoenix held their own Volunteer Day following the model of 15 years of community service by ABA's Tucson's office. MASD is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing sports and recreation activities to individuals with all types of disability. They provide year-round sports training and competition through the Special Olympics programs for athletes who are developmentally disabled.
