Revision of the genus Forelius (Hymenoptera : Formicidae : Dolichoderinae)[Review] [Spanish]

摘要

A review of Forelius Emery, 1888 (Formicidae: Dolichoderinae) was made in the present paper. Forelius is an exclusively American genus, nesting in soil of open areas in arid and semiarid places in the Neotropical and Nearctic regions. I recognize 18 species: three new: F. bahianus, F. lilloi and F. maranhaoensis, three n. status and 11 new synonyms are proposed. I also include information about biology and distribution maps for each species and a key to species based on the worker caste.
