Assignee Playtex Products, Inc Claimed is a sunless tanning composition having dihydroxyacetone and an amphoglycinate in an amount effective for sunless tanning and a method of use. The amphoglycinate is selected from a group consisting of various amphoacetat.es and mixtures thereof, which is delivered in a cosmetically acceptable vehicle. Optionally this contains at least one emulsifier, one humectant and one or more derivatives of hyaluronic acid and any combinations thereof, and a preservative. It is claimed that the composition described provides fast development of a uniform, more intense, long lasting and natural looking tan with more predictable colour characteristics.
