Make-up sales down in France

Make-up sales are experiencing a downturn in France, according to Kantar Worldpanel Beauty. In the hygiene/beauty sector as a whole, sales have fallen 3.6%, with the average annual spend in 2012 dropping to ?163 compared with ?169 in 2011. Sales volume, however, is up with the average French woman buying 4.5 units of make-up per year, and nail varnish leading the way.
