摘要

In this study we compare different parallel solvers for the 2D Shallow Water Equations (SWEs) for the simulation of tidal motions on domains with irregular shape, such as the Southern North Sea and the English Channel. We focus in particular on the comparison of the total efficiency (i.e. the product of the numerical efficiency and the parallel efficiency) of different time integration schemes, ranging from explicit via semi-implicit to implicit schemes. Timing results on iPSC parallel computers are presented.
