Influence of some Low Formaldehyde Superplasticizers on the Rheological and Mechanical Properties of Cement Pastes

摘要

Low Formaldehyde superplasticizers had been prepared through a new technique. The chemical structures of the products had been confirmed through different spectroscopic techniques including: elemental analysis, FTIR and DSC. The influence of these polymers on the properties of fresh OPC pastes were investigated through: rheological properties, minislump and water of consistency as well as their setting time. Meanwhile, the hardened pastes were investigated through DSC, compressive strength and combined water content at different time intervals. The results reflect that the prepared new superplasticizers have good dispersing action on cement particles, where it reduces the shear stress, plastic viscosity, yield stress and the water of consistency of the cement pastes and it increases their minislump. Also the compressive strength had been increased.
