Biology, ecology and distribution model of genus Pseudophilotes Beuret, 1958 in Andalusia (southern Spain) (Lepidoptera, Lycaenidae)

We provide new data on the life history of Pseudophilotes abencerragus (Pierret, 1837) and P. panoptes (Hubner, [1813]) and also about their distribution in Andalusia (southern Spain). Their most probable distribution in this geographical area is analyzed using Species Distribution Model (SDM) with MaxEnt software. The distribution models have acceptable accuracy with AUC values of 0.76 and 0.84 respectively. Sensibility values confirm the validity of the models. Among the selected variables the altitude, slope and the presence of host plants determine the presence of the butterfly species in southern Spain.
