A Quiet LCD Projector with a Novel Cooling System Using Ionized Airflow

摘要

We have developed the quiet LCD projector using the novel silent cooling system using ionized airflow. In the LCD projector, there are two big noise sources. One is the exhaust fan for the lamp, and the other is the intake blower for the LCD panels. To reduce the noise of exhaust fan for the lamp, we adopt the novel cooling system, which uses the negative corona discharge with needle electrodes and mesh electrodes. To reduce the noise of the intake blower for the LCD panels, we adopt the wire grid polarizer near the lamp. The wire grid polarizer reduces the amount of airflow for the LCD panels and the polarizers, and realized the lower voltage of intake blower for the LCD. Using the following methods, the noise of the prototype is 26dB.
