Late-News Paper: A Novel Non-Emissive Display with Enormous Contrast Ratio and Viewing-Angle Free

摘要

We have developed a transmissive type of electrowetting display driven by passive matrix. The novel display shows high image quality because it provides high contrast ratio 60,000:1 at display normal direction and wide viewing angle character (CR 20,000 at ±70 degree). As the display has a memory characteristic, it also exhibits a feature of low power consumption.
