National and International Standards:Standardization and Calibration

This article provides a brief introduction to standardizationand calibration of acoustic stimuli and explains why standards exist andwhy we calibrate. A brief history of standardization is provided, and theprocess and procedures for developing international and nationalstandards are described in some detail.
