MMS Offers New Flexibilities for Ultra-Deep Drilling on the OCS

The U.S.Department of the Interior's Minerals Management Service (MMS) issued a final rule last month in the Federal Register that will allow suspensions of operations (SOO) to oil and gas lessees or operators who drill ultra-deep wells deeper than 25,000 feet true vertical depth below the ocean surface.
