Cyst Tech soybeans developed to control increasing SCN mutations

Third generation seedsman, Mark Terpstra, now looks to a wider market for his SCN solution. An independent seed company in Perry, Iowa, has created soybean varieties that control Soybean Cyst Nematodes (SCN). Cyst Tech soybeans have been used in trials for the past several years and Mark Seed Company is now ready to partner with a larger seed company to get the soybeans distributed to the larger soybean market. Mark Terpstra, President and CEO of the Mark Seed Company, developed Cyst Tech soybeans.In the mid-1980s, Terpstra realized the SCN resistant seeds weren't thriving as he thought they should be and by the early 1990s decided to work toward a solution to this problem. What he developed were Cyst Tech soybeans, designed with two-levels for rotation.
