Prepainted, Galvanised Steel is a high quality product, used mainly for Building Products, particularly for roofing and walling applications. It is a well proven product, and very competitive against alternative products, due to its long life, large colour range, easy of installation and light weight structure. Prepainted steel has been growing in popularity in Developed Markets for the past 30 years, but Emerging Economies have found it difficult to afford. This is no longer the case. The galvanised steel to be painted must have a smooth surface to allow high speed production on the Coil Paint Lines, while ensuring a high quality, attractive product Historically, these galvanised coils have been produced on large Non-Oxidising Furnace (NOF). Galvanising Lines as this product provide the best surface for painting. Unfortunately, the capital costs to install a large galvanising line is quite high and this restricts the ability of smaller organisations and less developed countries to enter this market. Also, the cost of importing galvanised coils is usually very high.
