JFE Steel. JFE Bars & Shapes will integrate bar, wire rod operations

JFE Steel Corp and JFE Bars & Shapes Corp, the JFE Group's electric-furnace steelmaker, will integrate their bar and wire rod businesses on April 1. The group currently has two separate bar and wire rod units: one at JFE Steel and the other at JFE Bars & Shapes. The JFE Group expects to raise its competitiveness versus rival mills in Japan and overseas through the move.
