PT Latinusa (hereinafter referred to as Latinusa), the only tinplate producerin Indonesia, conducted the revamping project in 2011 which would increaseLatinusa's capacity of production from 130,000 tons to 160,000 tons per year.This project will enable the convergence of the electrolytic tinning systemfrom a soluble to insoluble anode system and the addition of the inductionheating reflow system.Such technologies that made such advancement achievable were provided toLatinusa by Nippon Steel & Sumikin Engineering. The Nippon Steel & SumitomoCorporation has been the leading pioneer in the field of designing the insolubleanode system; Nippon Steel & Sumikin Engineering, with their one and onlyproven technology, has been the group's most reliable supplier. It is needlessto say the advantages the insoluble anode system has over the soluble system.After its successful completion in December of 2011, Latinusa was able toachieve their desired production capacity and quality. The insoluble anodesystem, together with the implementation of highly credited and reliablemachinery and equipments drastically improved the tin consumption and theproduction quality than before.This Latinusa's Electrolytic Tinning Line (hereinafter referred to as ETL)revamping project proves the insoluble anode system is as essential - vitaleven, for revamping projects as it is with new construction.
