Metal Commodities Inc. and Metal Exchange Corp. - both St. Louis-based companies owned by Morris Lefton-have merged.The merger will reportedly enable the companies to share infrastructure and traders to improve efficiency and customer service.According to Tom Akers, head of Metal Exchange's trading business, the combination will allow the firms to "provide better coverage to our existing base of suppliers and customers as well as expand the base in both aluminum and copper."
