SAHAVIRIYA WANTS BETTER DEAL ON PLANT

The Sahaviriya Group plans to ask the new government to review investment privileges granted to its 500-billion-baht iron-smelting project. The project, located at the group' s steel complex in Prachuap Khiri Khan, has received investment privileges from the Board of Investment but faces a one-year delay due to this year's political turmoil. Maximum privileges were granted only to the smelting plant, while other facilities such as waste byproduct treatment and a power plant received lower-tier incentives.
