摘要

At 12.51pm on February 22, Allan Rooney was standing on the number seven wharf at Lyttelton talking to his friend Pete Dawson. Up until then it had been a normal day for Allan, who has been fishing out of the iconic port for almost 10 years in a career spanning more than three decades. Among his tasks that day was stripping his boat, the Robert. H, ready for painting. The 6.3 magnitude earthquake that was about to change everything was centred about two kilometres to the west and five kilometres below where the men stood.
