In these modern times of globalization, it shouldn't seem odd wild salmon harvested in Alaska could be flown half the way around the world to China for processing, only to be flown back to the United States to be sold at Wal-Mart and other retail outlets. Still, it seems like a long strange trip for salmonto travel. Frank Zhou of Ocean One Enterprise Ltd., a Chinese processor that operates five processing plants in China, is a key player in the global processing of salmon. The company supplies processed wild salmon products to retailers in Europe and the United States, and is a major salmon supplier to Wal-Mart.
