Amanda Foods has invested in a brand new Stein coating and frying line for its recently extended processing plant on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City. Says CEO Joesph Rifkin: 'Our fully automated Stein line, to my knowledge, is one of the only few inAsia. This investment typifies our attitude to the seafood industry in Vietnam. We have great confidence in the future of the industry.' Although better known as a major Vietnamese shrimp processor, Amanda Foods has a licence to process whitefish and is buying in frozen basa (pangasius) fillets and portions. It is producing pre-fried breaded basa fillets, skewers and battered and breaded cubes, and is exporting small individual breaded portions to Australia.
