Steel makers explored environmental and safety issues in Yogyakarta - 2008 SEAISI Environmental and Safety Seminar

The 2008 SEAISI Environmental and Safety Seminar was held at Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta, Indonesia from November 10-11. It was the first time that SEAISI expanded the yearly Environmental and Safety workshop into seminar. The main objective was to promote technologies and methods to improve environmental and safety performance for the steel industry in .the region. The seminar, which attracted a total of 100 delegates, was hailed as a success. Ail together 25 papers and country reports were presented over six sessions covering various aspects on environmental and safety practices and performance. There was active participation from the delegates who asked many questions as well as shared their views and knowledge on the various topics presented.
