Longtime Canadian rainbow trout producer Willowfield Enterprises is doing something no one ever has — successfully commercially farming sock-eye salmon. For more than a decade, the protein company, which works with a variety of meats and seafood species, "has been investigating and experimenting with growing sockeye," said owner Don Read. The company teamed with biologist Larry Albright to successfully rear the species.
