Gas shortages force Omani rebar mill to reduce output

Omani rebar producer Hadid Majan has been forced to substantially reduce output owing to gas shortages in the country, which are also preventing the firm from bringing its new rebar mill on stream. Consequently, there is said to be a shortage in rebar supply for state-funded construction projects. Negotiations are currently being carried on between the re-roller's management and government authorities in a bid to increase gas supply and ramp up production, which has fallen from 5,000 mt/ month to 1,500 mt/month.
