Prices of seaborne coking coal bound for Asia drop

Seaborne coking coal prices fell Tuesday on diminishing prospects of a revival in near-term demand in China, compounded by greater use of domestic coal and a lack of demand from Europe and India. Platts assessed mid-vol hard coking coal with 64% CSR (coke strength after reaction) 6 dollars lower at 140.50 dollars/mt FOB Australia, while premium low-vol HCC was assessed 2.50 dollars lower than last Friday to 164.50 dolalrs/mt FOB.
