Manganese metal producer Tycoon Group plans to lay idle one of its six production lines at Chongqing as tanking steel margins globally continue to cap buying interest for the ferroalloy, a company source said Thursday. Tycoon Group has six production lines at its factory in Chongqing and in 2011 produced 50,000 mt of manganese metal of 99.7% purity, most of which was sold to local steelmakers while the rest was exported to South Korea and Japan as contractual cargoes.
