Japanese scrap export prices likely to rise in new auction

Friday's auction for H2 grade scrap being called by the Kanto Tetsugen group of scrap dealers in east Japan for December export should produce higher bids than last month, industry watchers in Tokyo said. At a minimum, the winning bid will be Yen 24,000/mt ($300) FAS, a Tokyo-based scrap trader believed. “Overseas scrap prices are rising and this will be reflected in the bid prices,” he said.
