Scrap weekly wrap: Prices rise in Turkey, steadier elsewhere

Prices for scrap imports into Turkey increased in a busy week of trading through December 23. The Steel Index reported nearly 400,000 mt of concluded trades. TSI?s reference price for heavy melting scrap 1&2 (80:20 mix) rose by $10/mt to end Friday at $291/mt CFR Iskenderun port. The weekly average of its daily reference prices was nearly 6% higher than the previous week and has now advanced by $18/mt over the past four weeks.
