Brazilian mining group Vale's third quarter iron ore production fell to 83.93 million mt, 4.5% below the 87.9 million mt it produced in the same period of 2011, the company said Wednesday. Pellet output rose to 14.46 million mt in Q3 from 14.23 million mt a year earlier, the company said. In the first nine months of 2012, iron ore output fell 2.2% to 234.5 million mt from 239.6 million mt in the same period of 2011, it said.
