EU steelmakers talk limiting scrap exports

European steelmakers are talking about an “administrative restriction” on scrap exports in an effort to better balance the scrap supply and steel production, Wolfgang Eder, CEO of Voestalpine and president of industry lobby Eurofer, said Thursday. “There is an ongoing discussion about administrative restrictions [of scrap exports],” Eder said on the sidelines of Eurofer's European Steel Day conference in Brussels.
