Ukrainian scrap prices up as mills seek stocks: trade

Ukraine's domestic scrap prices have moved up with mills paying more to secure supply, sources told Platts Steel Business Briefing Friday. After mills cut their bids by Hryvnia 100-150/mt in late September, bringing the market to lows of Hryvnia 2,300-2,350/mt, they started to encounter “serious under-supply” and inventories at the majority of produc-ers' shrank to just one to three days worth of business.
