摘要

The kinetics of the ruthenium(VI) catalysed oxidation of 1,2-propane diol,1,2-cyclohexane diol and propanetriol by hexacyanoferrate(III) ion in an aqeuous alkaline medium at constant ionic strength exhibits zero order dependence on hexa-cyanoferrate(III) and first order dependence on Ru(VI) and the rate increases with decrease in alkali concentration.The rate of the reaction increases with increase in substrate concentration and shows the Michaelis-Menten type of behaviour.A tentative mechanism is proposed.
