Cushing's syndrome secondary to intralesional steroid injections of multiple keloid scars.

Iatrogenic Cushing's syndrome commonly has been described in association with exogenous steroid use, through oral, inhaled and intravenous administration. However, intralesional steroid use as a cause of this syndrome is quite rare. In a review of the English language literature, Cushingoid features after the injection of triamcinolone acetonide for the treatment of keloids have been observed in both adult and pediatric patients.1"4 This case report describes an adult female who presented with severe weight gain, striae, moon face, hirsutism, and amenorrhea within 3 months after receiving triamcinolone acetonide injections after the excision of multiple keloids.
