Effect of intercropping on yield and yield components of tea and potato as affected by aluminium sulphate and DAP.

摘要

An experiment was conducted in Mansehra, Pakistan, during March 2003 to study the effect of intercropping potato (cv. Desiree) with tea (cv. QiMen) on the growth and yield of both crops under different levels of aluminium sulfate (Al(SO< sub>4)< sub>3), i.e. 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200 and 220, and diammonium phosphate (DAP), i.e. 0, 40, 80, 120, 160, 200, 240, 280, 320, 360, 400 and 440. The different levels of Al(SO< sub>4)< sub>3 and DAP significantly affected the number of stems per plant, number of leaves per plant, canopy, plant height and yield of potato; and number of branches per plant, plant height and yield of tea. The highest number of branches (4.852), number of leaves (134.4), canopy (18.00%) and yield (7.688 t/ha) of potato were recorded when Al< sub>2(SO< sub>4)< sub>3 and DAP were applied at 220 and 440 g/2 m2, respectively. The highest number of potato stems (2.578) were noted when Al< sub>2(SO< sub>4) and DAP were applied at 140 and 280 g/2 m2, respectively. The tallest potato plants (26.10 cm) were obtained when Al< sub>2(SO< sub>4)< sub>3 and DAP were applied at 200 and 400 g/2 m2, respectively. Higher number of tea branches (53.75, 54.19 and 54.13) were recorded when Al< sub>2(SO< sub>4)< sub>3 and DAP each applied at 220 and 440, 180 and 360 and 20 and 40 g/2 m2. The tallest tea plants (61.22 and 61.11 cm) were obtained when Al< sub>2(SO< sub>4)< sub>3 and DAP each were applied at 100 and 200 g/2 m2, and 20 and 40 g/2 m2. The highest tea yield (0.406 and 0.419 t/ha) were noted when Al< sub>2(SO< sub>4)< sub>3 and DAP each were applied at 220 and 440 and 180 and 360 g/2 m2.
