Inter-cropping sunflower and mungbean was explored at different planting geometries and planting dates at the Department of Agronomy. Faculty of Agriculture. Gomal University. D.I. Khan during 1995 Experiment was laid down in randomized complete blockdesign with split plot arrangements with four replications. Planting dates were assigned to main plots where as planting geometries to sub plots with sub plot size of 3.6 x 4 m~(-2). Data were recorded on plant height, head diameter 1000 seed weight andyield in kg ha~(-1) of sunflower and pods/plant, seed weight/plant. 1000 seed weight and yield in kg ha~(-1) for mungbean Planting geometries and planting dates significantly differed in affecting the sunflower parameters but not the mungbean yield components. The planting pattern of sole crop of sunflower at 3 row strips gave the highest yield of 4513 kg ha~(-1) averaged across planting dates. Considering planting dates the highest yield of 4810 kg ha~(-1) for sunflower was obtained from planting on March 8. while the lowest yield of 4194 kg ha~(-1) from March 18. Economics analysis indicated that the best combination was planting pattern of two row strip of sunflower plus two row strip of mungbean with planting dale of March 8. which produced the, highest combined yield of 5 28 tons of sunflower and 0.399 t ha~(-1) of mungbean.
