International Scale Technological Growth: SAMPE Asia 2010, an Excellent Example

As the society's International Technical Director, I have had numerous occasions to see and experience the 'flavor' of our North American, Europe, Japan, China and Asia conference events. I have also had the opportunity to attend other events that SAMPE has been a co-sponsor or contributor to. The "technology flavor" of events held at numerous international locations clearly indicates that materials and process engineering technologies not only thrive but are in a continuous growth mode. It is certainly a large mistake in thinking that our SAMPE Asia or SAMPE China events would reflect only what many refer to as traditional "composites FRP" technologies, materials, processes and paper presentations. In the contrary, advanced composites M&P technologies actually thrive alongside the more traditional FRP composites technologies.
