SMPE Japan provided some unique entertainment at SAMPE 2004 and the 60th Anniversary of the Society, as a whole. Those who attended certainly had the opportunity to observe and participate in the Japanese Kagami-Wari Ceremony described in the overview section later in this Journal. (By the way, make sure you note some of the great head bands on some of our leaders like Klaus Drechsler and Bob Qriffiths during the ceremony.) The Japanese showed us how traditional oriental number years associated with characters and animals (Year of the Horse, etc.) repeat with the two sets or numbers only every 60 years. That 60th year starts what is called "rebirth" since it will be another 60 years before the lowest common multiple repeats with the two sets of 10 and 12. Hence, we are now essentially starting SAMPE's "Rebirth" and SAMPE 2004 was obviously a good indicator of growth starting.
